About 8th iSTEAM+
Now in its ninth year, the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) continues to fortify its position as a global hub for research synergy through its flagship event, the International STEAM+ Research Congress (iSTEAM+). Having evolved from its foundational focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Agri-Fisheries, and Mathematics (STEAM), the congress now champions a truly holistic “STEAM+” paradigm. This integration encompasses health sciences, social sciences, humanities, and economics, recognizing that the most pressing global challenges cannot be solved in disciplinary silos.
The 2026 theme, “S & T for Humanity: Advancing Ethical, Inclusive, and Sustainable Innovations,” marks a critical milestone in the congress’s history. As we navigate an era of rapid digital transformation and environmental shifts, the 9th iSTEAM+ focuses on the human element of progress. It underscores the imperative that scientific and technological advancements must be governed by ethics, designed for inclusivity, and committed to long-term environmental and social sustainability.
Under the leadership of University President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, the congress serves as a cornerstone of EVSU’s aim to be the National University for Resilience and Climate Action (NURCA). This institutional vision demands research that is not only academically excellent but also practically responsive to the vulnerabilities of climate-prone regions like Eastern Visayas.
By strengthening collaborations with the Eastern Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technologies Research and Development (EVCIEERD) and the Philippine-American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE), the 9th iSTEAM+ provides a dynamic platform for multi-sectoral partnerships. It invites a global community of experts to bridge the gap between innovation and impact, ensuring that Research, Innovation, and Extension (RIE) initiatives contribute to a resilient regional ecosystem and a more equitable global knowledge economy.

Conference Objectives
The 9th iSTEAM+ Research Congress aims to achieve the following:
- To gather a diverse community of researchers, professionals, practitioners, and graduate students to facilitate the generation, dissemination, and cross-pollination of knowledge across STEAM+ disciplines.
- To provide a premier venue for unveiling discoveries and scientific breakthroughs that prioritize human well-being, ethical governance, and the protection of digital and physical rights.
- To promote research and extension outputs that are accessible and beneficial to marginalized sectors, ensuring that the fruits of S&T “leave no one behind.”
- To align RIE initiatives with the NURCA vision by showcasing innovations that address environmental vulnerabilities and promote regenerative practices in agriculture, industry, and urban living.
- To provide professional development, upskilling, and reskilling opportunities that prepare participants for the ethical and technical demands of the future workforce.
- To beef up the research, innovation, and extension (REI) ecosystem by reinforcing linkages between the academe, community, government, and industry to ensure sustainable regional development.

The paper/s to be presented during the congress shall be aligned to any of the following streams:

Abstract/Paper Submission
Notice of acceptance shall be given to qualified presenters. To be considered for the Best Paper Award, a full paper must be submitted. The technical panel committee will run the said paper through Turnitin. Accepted paper for Best Paper should be <20% for both the Similarity Index and AI-generated text. The manuscript must be accurate in substance and form, to include the following parts:
- Heading (title, name of the author, ORCID Number, email address, affiliation and Address)
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Extended Introduction (includes research problem, significance of the study, & review of related literature)
- Materials and Methods (for experimental researches) Methodology (for non-experimental researches)
- Results and Discussions
- Conclusion/s
- References
Conference Registration
Paper presenters and participants in the 9th iSTEAM+ are advised to register through the registration portal https://conference.evsu.edu.ph. Once the proof of payment has been verified, EVSU will issue the corresponding official receipt (OR) to the participants.
